I am opening the studio up for a casual ‘make as you please’ art therapy session. This will be an open, un-guided free time to create, using all the materials, creating with others while listening to relaxing tunes, drinking tea and nibbling on some snacks.
This session has no set theme. You make like to come with a project you’re already working on, or you may not have created art since you were a kid and are just keen to try it out!
I will be there if you need some suggestions or guidance. The aim of art therapy is the process of creating rather than the outcome, so this session is not aimed to learn techniques or skills, but more at providing a space to explore and discover and play!
Come and meet Amanda and some of the regulars, create and enjoy the time for yourself with the sun shining through the window (hopefully!) and surrounded by the beautiful Abbotsford convent, a hub of creativity and generally wholesome goodies.
Creativity can allow you to let go of your mind and connect with your intuition. It can increase your wellbeing through being mindful throughout the creative process. It can give you space from the fast pace of life. It can help you find clarity in your life, answers, direction. It can give you a break, or help you release what holds you back in your life…
No artistic talent required, art therapy is not about art to look good, it’s about the experience of creating. I believe everyone is creative. If you can move, you can create. Dare to discover something new.
